Wednesday morning I was lucky enough to meet this little lady Tali. I photographed Tali in the comfort of her own home and got to share in those beautiful first moments that mum and dad's have with their newborn...
Lifestyle newborn sessions are some of my favourite sessions, there is something so intimate and sweet and I can get lost in just watching mum and dad soak up every little squeak their newborn makes. Tali was wonderful to photograph such a content little soul!
My first newborn for 2016, what a way to start the year!
Newborn Photography has taken me on a wild ride! When I first started photography 3 years ago I was asked to photograph my first newborn for a client, I remember I was so nervous, we came away with some beautiful images but not at all what I would have imagined! Oh how un-prepared I was for just how difficult newborn photography can be.
During most of my sessions parents will often comment on how patient I am with their sweet babe, I have to be patient with her, she is the star of the show! Your baby runs my sessions, I follow her cues, we stop for her feeding, burping, pooping and crying breaks.
However un-prepared I was for the difficulty of newborn sessions I was equally if not more un-unprepared for the reward of the finished product! I love nothing more than seeing an image come together. I love spending time preparing images in my head, planning the set up, building props and making outfits to compliment each baby, I love the simplicity of the images that are nothing but a perfectly curled up sleeping baby... I have fallen in love with newborn photography and I wasn't prepared for it at all <3
Here are some of my favourite newborn images from the last few sessions, Enjoy!
I try as much as I can to remember to also take images of my two beautiful girls, this is my eldest daughter Haydee, who at 2.5yrs old is simply not that interested in her mummy getting some images of her ;) But she does love dresses, so we fashioned up this top (One of my newborn wraps) and took a skirt from my Maternity Tutu set and had some fun. (I promise she had fun) But apparently she takes her roll as model very seriously!
I am currently gearing up to photograph a newborn tomorrow and I cant wait to share, I have also been given the wonderful opportunity to photograph as the second shooter for a gorgeous wedding on Friday!
Wedding photography is something I have been working up towards for a while now and I hope that 2016 will be my year to dive head first into the wonderful world of Wedding Photography! I have been busily working away on my packages and price lists for weddings and cant wait to release - we will even have a new site that will be released to showcase just our engagement photography and wedding photography!
That's all for now :)
